Oracle's on-demand lineup adds Siebel, PeopleSoft tools

Oracle has put its "On Demand" brand on two technologies picked up via acquisitions and relaunched them. On Thursday, it announced Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise On Demand and Oracle On Demand for Siebel CRM, featuring services acquired in mergers with PeopleSoft and Siebel Systems respectively. The PeopleSoft-based service includes human resources, finance, procurement, marketing and sales tools. The Siebel customer relationship management tool provides order management and analytics capabilities in a number of industry categories.

The move comes as business applications sellers push forward with making their software available as a hosted service. Earlier this year, SAP unveiled its CRM on-demand service, and Microsoft is also planning its own hosted on-demand CRM service for next year.
