Allair's video-net package - a major paradigm
video on i-tunes - not in any sniff of the future;
programme downloads, the powerful forces of the
broadcast industry will prevent that happening too
soon, so we're informed. But with Allaire' Brightcove
package, could this be the paradigm shift.? Flash 5's
tranistion to MX represented the major breakthrough for
video rather than bitmap images to take centre stage.
But until now the perennial question has been, how
with broadband and the best of programme producers
will this impending Mk I dot.band be able to develop a
sustainable business. Admittedly, it never crossed my
mind when putting together Viewmagazine.tv, which
picked up first place at the Batten Awards for Innovation
in Journalism. . . but I like many will keep a watchful eye
on Allaire's venture. The distribution and cost package
could make all the difference to furthering the digital
reformation we've been witnessing. And then, perhaps
then we will all be content providers in the overall
sense of the word.
