OmniSky links arms with Palm, Handspring

Handspring and Palm owners who sign up for a year of OmniSky mobile e-mail and Internet service can get a free modem, the companies said Wednesday. The modem costs $299, but purchasers can receive a rebate for the entire amount. The offer lasts through June.

OmniSky is offering two options. Subscribers can pay $39.95 per month with an annual contract, or they can pay $359.95 up front for a year of service, which is equivalent to $29.99 per month.
