Novell to ship NetWare 6.5

Networking software maker Novell said Wednesday that it will make NetWare 6.5 available to customers on Aug. 15. The upgrade introduces changes aimed at simplifying administration and network access for corporate users. It also includes a Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application server that is designed to make it easier for companies to integrate NetWare software and management tools with other Java-based business applications. Pricing for NetWare 6.5 is available at Novell's Web site.

The Provo, Utah-based company recently announced a plan to deliver versions of its networking software on Linux.
