Novell gets new identity-software leader

Server software maker Novell quietly named a new executive to lead its identity-software division, the company confirmed this week. David Litwack retired in October, and Novell promoted Kent Erickson to lead the division, spokesman Bruce Lowry said.

In November, Novell announced a major layoff and reorganization to improve its financial fortunes.
