Juergen Geck, the chief technology officer for Suse Linux at Novell, is leaving the company at the end of the week, the server software company said Tuesday. The departure, which follows shortly after co-founder Hubert Mantel left in November, is "mutually agreed upon and is amicable," Novell spokesman Bruce Lowry said. He didn't have further details of Geck's plans.

Novell is in the midst of significant executive changes, including the appointment of Jeffrey Jaffe as CTO of the overall company and Ron Hovsepian as chief operating officer and heir apparent to CEO Jack Messman. On Monday, Computer Reseller News reported Geck's departure.
