As someone whose life was drastically changed by a 4 Time Repeat Drunk Driver 3 months ago (2 children hurt badly, one who is still in the hospital fighting for her life) , I applaud Nissan (and Volvo) for taking matters into their own hands since our US gov't doesn't seem to think of drunk driving as anything more than a traffic violation instead of the CRIME that it really is.
Sure great feeling for safety. How about the consumer's money? Can someone for me to buy? The consumer is King and Nissan will learn this the hard way.
Gov't is requiring more and more safety features on cars...why can't this be included? Price will come down as more and more cars are fitted with it. Common sense in mine opinion.
It's good to see car manufacturers investing in this technology. I can only hope that once Nissan finishes it off, all manufacturers will put it in their cars.
It's just too bad people are so stupid and greedy that I'm going to have to pay for this with my next car.
What a great idea! Just think, no more needless deaths! How many people are dead because the other person knew they could drive just fine. Finally, we can take the decision making process out of the idiot's hands! YES!!!
It's a good step in the right direction. I just hope my car won't shut off if my drunk buddy spills a beer all over my shirt, or if my hands are sweating after playing sports.
