Nintendo has caught a wider net of potential customers for lower-price Wii, but game sales have also been slower with this softer audience.

big role in the purchasing decisions. I have purchased a couple
game at $50 only to find them total dogs. They don't take
advantage of the Wii and/or are just not fun. Paying $100 to find
that out stings.
With a few exceptions, I really think that a lot of these games
should be more like $29.95 (or maybe $39.95 - if it's a good
game).
I did buy Lego Star Wars and liked it enough that I'll probably buy
Lego Batman or Lego Indiana Jones. If they were $39.95, I'd
probably buy both. But it is a $50 gamble each time I buy a game.
Software houses really do need to find a way to get their games out there in the $30-$40 range if they want to make a decent number of sales. Case in point...six out of the seven titles I own were bought in that price range. I do have Wii Fit on pre-order because I suspect it will be next to impossible to find on its release date and I also decided to pre-order We Ski because video I've seen of the game looks entertaining, but more importantly, it's priced at only $29.99.

- The game was inserted and all we had to do was download some Wii updates and Super Smash Bros was up and running in less than 5 minutes.
