Netli speeds up Web services applications

Netli, which aims to help speed up the performance of business applications on the Internet, on Monday introduced a service to better accommodate Web services applications. The service, called NetLighting for Web services, promises to speed the movement of data between machines rather than speed the download of information from a server to a person's Web browser. The service is tuned specifically to work with XML and the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), which are used for program-to-program communication.

Netli said it uses its own specialized protocols and a hardware device installed with customers to reduce the network traffic delays caused by Internet protocols. Its service is designed to improve the performance of applications such as human resources or corporate Web sites without making any changes to the application.
