NEC aims for the middle

NEC Solutions America has launched a plan to provide midsize businesses with IT services. The company said Thursday that its enterprise services unit is offering products for midsize organizations including network and security services, application integration, application data management, enterprise portals, customer relationship management and hosting.

Small and medium-size businesses are seen as a promising market for technology companies. IBM and Hewlett-Packard also are looking to sell IT services to midsize businesses. Sacramento, Calif.-based NEC Solutions America is an affiliate of Japan-based NEC.
