myspace is the most successful social network out there.... and very powerful. It is exciting to see a label of note utilizing this space. I think that it would be very "myspacey" to focus on the core of the people who built their site..... the indies. We have a fully-functioning label/marketing/distribution/safe house for indies, that mirrors what Interscope is trying to do with myspace. So, I ask this question of myspace: "why not use your size, combined with the coolness of your users, to really change the industry"? It's already out here waiting. A fully- functioning, independent distribution network that covers all three major forms of legal distribution. We would be happy to use our programs to bring those deserving indies to those same shelves, it's what we do.
I don't see the advantage of them having a label if they seem to prefer to work with known talents. What's the point in that? They need to concentrate on the independent artist who have the talent and songs, and whom otherwise get ignored by the majors. I hope I'm getting it wrong, but mySpace has a great opportunity to capitalize on their popularity. Let's hope for the best.
Rob!!! i strongly agree. i see no talent whats so ever in these bands that are trying to get in the music industry. I've been trying to get my band noticed for the longest on Myspace, but nothing. There just into all that Dancy, indie, Emo ********!! Quit frankly its getting on my Nerves. Bu t your wanting to her whats gonna be taking over all this riffs getting plpayed over, and over is, Blue Night Haze, this is some music that should be heared and not ignored. I'm here to say that MYSPACE starting a record label is great...but who will benefit? Probably not the real artists themselves but there is always hope i guess. I just wish it won't become a another corporate monster that doesnt give a **** about us struggling artists. Thats my 2cents...so if you want to check out one of the many cool undiscovered talents go to our myspace... enjoy! http://www.myspace.com/junkboxmusic

The rise of Apple's stores is one of the past decade's great retail stories. So, why then does the company continue to creep back into the big-box outlets and will this hurt the brand?
The company helps small businesses with little tech savvy build apps easily, and now its partner Constant Contact will email-blast prospective users, too.
