Movielink hits play for new service

Movielink, a movie-downloading Web site, said Wednesday that it opened a co-branded version of its service at online news and entertainment provider The FeedRoom. The two companies will allow The FeedRoom visitors to preview, rent and download a selection of Movielink's first-run and classic films, including "8 Mile" and "As Good As It Gets." Financial details were not disclosed.

The deal follows a similar agreement between Hollywood.com and Movielink inked earlier this year and plays into the video-on-demand site's plans to distribute its service to multiple partners. Santa Monica, Calif.-based Movielink is a joint venture of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal and Warner Bros.
