Monster name change for TMP Worldwide

TMP Worldwide moved to capitalize on the name recognition of its popular career Web site Monster.com, renaming itself Monster Worldwide. The change, which will take affect May 1, will also result in a new ticker symbol, "MNST," for the company's Nasdaq-traded stock.

Two of the company's three units, Worldwide Advertising & Communications and TMP Worldwide Directional Marketing, will retain existing names because they already have strong branding and recognition in the marketing and advertising industry. The third unit, Monster.com, will continue to operate with its current name.
