The Modem Blaster Pro 33.6 will retail for $99. Digicom says consumers will get a free upgrade to 56 kbps by downloading software from its Web site or bulletin board system. For online access at 56 kbps, modems at the user's site and at the central access site must match to connect for the maximum speeds.
Digicom says the modem also has full-duplex speakerphone capabilities and voice messaging with up to 99 mailboxes. The modem is compatible with Windows 95 and Windows 3.1, NT, and MS-DOS.
The company says the modem is available now and that the free software upgrade will be available next month.
