No one has ever lost money.....
... by underestimating the intelligence or taste of the American
public. On that basis, MS has a winner here.

It'll ruin it
The main thing about Halo and Halo2 is that players play in a free-form environment. Even if the movie copies the story-line (which would still be boring anyway b/c most people play the story line), adding a face to a loved face-less character would severly ruin Halo. I want to play as a Marine, not billy-bob or jim-joe.

Halo 2 Already ruined the series
We ewere promised that we'd defend earth. The extremley awesome scenary from the Demo wasn't even included in the game play. Then we have to trot around over half of the game as a covenant? Worthless. The ending was magnificently terrrible as well. At least put us back on earth for a few more hours of play. They hype really didn't get any justice from the game at all.

Oh! Oh!
I smell MEGA-FLOP here! (And, no, I'm not
talking about supercomputers). Hey, Halo may
be a fun 'shoot-em-up' game, but is there
anything here to really base a feature-length
movie on? Is there a deep and thrilling story
behind Halo? Romance? A sophisticated and
twisty plot? No! There's none of that! Zero.
Nada. They're going to have to hire some
screenwriters to make all that up from scratch
while trying to adhere in some way to a
Halo-like world with rockets, guns, and
battles. Does this sound like the proper way to
start developing a great movie to you? Me
neither.

If based on the books.........
.........this movie would have been good. The books have a very compelling plot. They add a very exstensive back story and expand quite a few elements that are briefly covered in the game. But since they appear to be basing the movie off of the two games it's going to be shallow and plotless.

Halo for a Movie !!!!
As always; Microsoft marketing is big, the real challenge would be to make a movie about Half-Life 2, Halo won't be even half of Alien's movies, Half-Life 2 has the right substance to do that.
