Microsoft expands Windows Server test

Microsoft on Tuesday said it expanded the test program for a version of its Windows Server 2003 operating system running on Advanced Micro Devices' 64-bit Opteron chip.

The company initiated a limited test of the operating system in October. The expanded beta program is open to anyone interested in testing the new software. Microsoft expects to ship a final version of the software in the second half of this year. The 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003 is available for download from Microsoft's Web site.
