Microsoft buys Unveil assets
Microsoft said on Thursday that it has acquired "certain intellectual-property assets" from Unveil Technologies, a Waltham, Mass.-based call center software maker.
Redmond said it would incorporate some aspects of the Unveil Conversation Suite into Microsoft's Speech Server voice recognition software. "By supplementing our tool set with Conversation Suite technologies, even a nontechnical call center manager can prototype and develop robust speech applications," Rich Bray, general manager of the Speech Server group, said in a statement. Microsoft said that, as part of the deal, it will hire an unspecified number of Unveil's key employees.
