Code-named Thumper, the application acts as an "intelligent assistant" to help users bypass unwanted electronic messages, the company said. Pricing will be announced once the tool begins beta testing and will range between $800 and $1,400, the company said.
The message routing engine is a server supporting SMTP, IMAP, and POP3 protocols for email, NNTP for newsgroups and Internet forums, and LDAP for directory services. The tool can be used as an addition to existing email systems as well.
Thumper also has data storage capability and a mailing list manager. It works with standard Web browsers. The server software runs on Intel, Alpha, PowerPC, and MIPs versions of Windows NT. A Unix version and an IMAP4 client message routing configuration will be delivered later.
