Mesa tool lets Notes, Exchange talk

  • Post a comment
Groupware developer, the Mesa Group, today begins shipping its JumpStart application that converts data between Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange messaging engines, the company said.

The software is designed to reduce the time and hassles involved communicating across the two popular forms of corporate groupware. Mesa JumpStart allows for messages to travel back and forth between Notes databases and Exchange public folders and provides for conversion and publishing of translated email.

Users of the translation application may also conduct threaded discussions and comments in both the Notes or Exchange format, as well as converting document attachments and ActiveX controls.

JumpStart requires Lotus Notes Server Release 3.0 or later; Lotus Notes Client Release 3.0 or later; Microsoft Exchange Server Version 4.0 or later; Microsoft Exchange Client Version 4.0 or later; Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT 3.51 or later.

JumpStart is priced $7,500 per server. On-site consulting help to install JumpStart is priced at $1,000 to $1,200 per day, said the company.
