Meeting to examine W3C efforts

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) on Monday commenced its Technical Plenary and Working Group Meeting Event in Cannes-Mandelieu, France.

Panels will address high-profile issues before the consortium, including the function of the newly formed Technical Architecture Group, charged with steering the consortium's strategic direction; W3C efforts in the area of Web standards; and the Semantic Web, an initiative to make the Web more accessible to software agents and other applications. Twenty out of more than 30 active W3C working groups will meet in France. The event ends March 1.
