McAfee on Tuesday announced the availability of a new intrusion prevention product. McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention 6.0, formerly McAfee Entercept, enables exploit protection through dynamic vulnerability shielding update capabilities and the integration of full desktop firewall functionality in one software agent for the PC, the company said in a statement.

Additionally, McAfee Host IPS can be centrally controlled with McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator management tool, the company said.
