McAfee launches 'Threat Center' site

As part of a major revamp of its Web site, McAfee on Monday introduced the McAfee Threat Center, a new section offering security information, tools and insights. It includes details on the latest malicious software, vulnerabilities, spam activity and phishing scams. The McAfee Threat Center is similar to Symantec's Security Response site, CA's Security Advisor and others.

The updated McAfee Web site replaces a hard-to-find page on its old site and offers simplified navigation of the McAfee virus information library. The library contains more than 180,000 descriptions of malicious software, vulnerabilities and other threats, the company said in a statement. Additional components will be added to the new McAfee site over the course of the next few months, it said.
