McAfee appoints chief security officer

McAfee on Monday announced several executive appointments, but not a new chief executive officer. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based security specialist named Martin Carmichael to the post of chief security officer, Bill Curtis to the position of chief process officer and Carl Banzhof to vice president and chief technology evangelist.

McAfee has had a number of executive changes in the wake of a probe into its stock option practices and the departure of its president to take the helm at Websense. McAfee has been without a permanent CEO since October.
