Manugistics updates supply-chain tools

Software company Manugistics has released a new version of its suite of business applications, which are designed to help manufacturers keep track of supplies and monitor their production line. Manugistics version 7.1 includes new software components for booking orders and for relaying shipping notices and other business documents electronically. In addition, it is built on the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) standard, making it easier for customers to write customized programs and to build links to other business systems, the company said.
