Macrovision buys game download firm

Content-protection company Macrovision said Tuesday that it agreed to buy Trymedia for $34 million in cash. Trymedia is a San Francisco-based company that provides secure download technology for distributing video games.

The company will become part of Macrovision's newly created video games unit.
