Macromedia Cold Fusion goes mobile
ColdFusion MX 7, which is available now, adds a feature to create printable Web pages by adding a single tag to existing code. It also introduces enhancements to create Windows forms quicker and the ability to present tables of data for business reports without having to manually create a grid in HTML. The ColdFusion server software, which runs the Web applications, can now transmit information over the SMS (short message service) protocol, rather than HTTP (Hypertext Transport Protocol) which is used for Web pages. Using this feature, developers can take existing Web applications and send information to mobile devices which support SMS, Macromedia said. Macromedia has two editions of ColdFusion MX 7, one priced at $1,299 per two processors and the other at $5,999 per two processors.
