Lycos to shutter Pittsburgh offices
A majority of the 80 workers in Pittsburgh, with jobs in research, operations, and product management, among others, will be offered a chance to relocate to Waltham, Massachusetts, where Lycos's corporate headquarters is based.
The relocations will begin in August and be completed by year's end.
Lycos is closing its Pittsburgh office to "improve efficiencies," a spokeswoman said. The company's "critical mass" is located in Massachusetts, she added.
Lycos will maintain its close ties with Carnegie Mellon despite the closure of the Pittsburgh office, she said.
