LookSmart renews Road Runner deal

LookSmart, a provider of commercial search and directory listings, said Thursday that it renewed an agreement with Time Warner Cable's Road Runner unit through April 30, 2004. Under the deal, San Francisco-based LookSmart will provide directory listings and advertiser-sponsored search results to Road Runner subscribers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The agreement extends an already three-year relationship between the two companies. LookSmart specializes in selling advertisers placement in search results related to certain keywords; advertisers pay only when Web surfers click on their listing. The company also provides editorially reviewed directory listings. Its largest customer is Microsoft's MSN.
