Linksys, Boingo aim hot spots at small businesses

Linksys and Boingo Wireless are making it easier for small businesses to offer hot-spot services to customers. The two companies announced Wednesday that the Linksys Wireless-G VPN Broadband Router will come with Boingo's "Hot Spot in a Box" feature. The feature allows small-business owners who buy the $229.99 router to offer customers access to Boingo's hot-spot network. Those businesses would also get a cut of the service revenue. Marketing, billing and technical support will be handled by Boingo and its partners.

Linksys is a division of Cisco Systems and is the market share leader in Wi-Fi gear sales.
