With E3 on the horizon, Microsoft has released the much-awaited details of its second-generation gaming console, Xbox 360. The console won't be on the market for several months, but it will likely be well ahead of the PlayStation 3 in reaching
consumers, potentially helping Microsoft cut into Sony's lead.

Since Microsoft is notorious for only allowing their patches to be
applied, the game developers, and only their hardware, I am so
totally interested in finding it if this is a promise or not.
As far as the rest, the specs on this new box are subject to
change a great deal. There are no real promises. They don't
have a working prototype (no surprise there), because their
demos are running on macs. I have an xBox, and have had
almost every game console ever built. I am happy with my xBox.
I think the current focus should be on newer games.
If the actual release of the 360 is not backward compatible, it
will fail miserably. Bottom-line, what will the "actual" product
be like.
