Lemony Snicket comes to the handset

A cell phone game based on the children's book series "A Series of Unfortunate Events," by Lemony Snicket (also known as Daniel Handler), was released Monday. Available through several major U.S. wireless operators, the game is part of the buildup to the Dec. 17 debut of the movie based on the books' main characters, a trio of orphans. The movie is being produced by Paramount Pictures, Nickelodian Movies, DreamWorks and Scott Rudin Productions.

The game was developed by Jamdat Mobile for Nickelodeon Online, a division of entertainment giant Viacom.
