Korean software maker joins Asian Linux group
South Korean software company Haansoft has joined an alliance to create a version of Linux for Asian markets, the company said Monday. The software, called Asianux, has been under development by Red Flag Software in China and Miracle Linux in Japan.
Asianux competes with the two leading versions of Linux from Red Hat and Novell. The Korean expansion had been expected. Haansoft sells Hancom Linux, word processing software and a Java-based office software suite.
