Key3Media emerges from bankruptcy

Key3Media Group on Thursday announced it has emerged from a Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy. The company, which produces such technology trade shows as Networld+Interop and Comdex, will now go under the name of Medialive International and operate as a private company. All common shares of Key3Media will be canceled and cease to trade, the company said. The company also announced Robert Priest-Heck, its current chief operating officer, will become its chief executive officer.

Key3Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year, after struggling for some time against the economic downturn that hit technology companies especially hard. Last September, the company canceled several shows for 2003, including Comdex in Chicago, Montreal and Vancouver, as well as Seybold Seminars in New York.
