KDE releases new Linux desktop software

The KDE Project has released version 3 of its namesake software package, one of the two dominant packages for bringing graphical desktop features to Linux. The software includes improvements to printing, Internet browsing, file management and word processing.

Programs written for the earlier KDE 2 will work as long as supporting software libraries are available. KDE 3 will be included with the coming version 8 of SuSE's Linux product.
