Intel to kick off Pentium 4 ad blitz

Intel will break out its first Pentium 4 ads Monday. Three television ads will kick off the $300 million campaign, featuring an experimental theater outfit called Blue Man Group. The ads will show the group getting artsy with the number 4, as in the Pentium 4.

The chip giant will also turn to online and print ads as part of the campaign. The Pentium 4 chip has been shipping since November. However, Intel chose to continue to emphasize its Pentium III chips through the holiday season.
