Industry Standard trims staff again

The Industry Standard, a weekly technology magazine published by Standard Media International, has reduced its editorial staff by less than 10 percent, sources inside the company say. All the employees laid off worked on the magazine's Web site, sources said, adding that the staff has for some time expected a large round of job cuts.

"This wasn't it," said one source who requested anonymity. "We're expecting a much larger reduction." In February, the magazine laid off 69 workers, or 17 percent of its staff. Company executives were not immediately available for comment.
