Future home of mine

Microsoft need to show people tha it can provide stable and working OS,gain trust they have lost before they can think of offering any other "features" let alone sell us ideas about future homes....yes price under $200 would help too.Last thing I want in my house is crashing windows,spyware crawling on my walls,hackers chilling in my kitchen,pop-up advertisment over my bed and sure don't want to pay to chat with my own wife.

That story does not say that at all. It says that the firm heavily uses Macs, but that Bill's house was largely hand designed. That is not the same thing. First and last time I will look at any link you refer to!

Great. So...

This is so great. Not only is Bill G. not happy with trying to crash our computers with buggy, security hole infested PC software.

He expects us to buy cars controlled by Windows Car and now a house too.

I can see the car now. "Hello, I regret to inform you that Windows Car has crashed. You will follow shortly."

I can see the house. "Welcome home. There are 32 burlars in the house robbing you blind. I tried to stop them but I couldn't close the Windows and stop them from coming in. We recommend you upgrade to Windows House 1.098321. Which should take care of the security hole. Please note that the unforunate accidents reported with the Windows Toaster have been blow out of proporation. User's only sustained second degree burns when it crashed and not the third degree burns first reported. This bug has been reclassified to important, down from critical."

I mean please. He wants all of this stuff but none of his products can be trusted. What's next Windows Airplane, that ships from free hijackers?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't their some political figure trapped inside his car for two hours because the Windows CE (?) crashed? They couldn't open the doors because they wouldn't unlock. I dunno, but if this is true you honestly expect me to drive in something that works this beautifully?

More, faster please

I eagerly look forward to greater integration of my computer and the rest of my house. I already have X.10 to help me control lights and such, but the more integration the better. I believe it would be real cool to say "Grace Lock it up for the night", to shut off all lights, turn off all TVs, standby all computers, lock all doors and windows, close the shutters, etc.

Here's to the future.

Thanks Bill G. you may not be perfect, but at least you and Microsoft are trying.

PS - I really like Windows XP + SP2.
