This is useful how?
Someone please tell the folks over at Yahoo that Firefox doesn't need this kind of commercialized bloatware.

The browser was sufficient in its feature set out of the gate. The growing number of extensions fill any gap a glorified "search bar" could ever hope to close. Not to mention the fact that Google is resident in the browser's tool set by default.

Please, Yahoo, don't take a page from Microsoft's book. Stick to innovation, imitation doesn't suit you.

true, but...
You're right in thinking this bloatware doesn't contribute anything -- but in some terms signals the acceptance of Firefox as a major player and a presence that will surely give Internet Explorer a run for it's money, so to speak.

I value this addition from Yahoo! as it sends a sign to those not aware that Firefox is a force to be recon with.

agree wih both
True, true, this toolbar is unnecessary as there are sufficient
extensions out there to provide this and much, much, much
more than the yahoo toolbar and let's not forget how heavy this
thing may be and how it may affect the browser's load time.
So, Yahoo toolbar, not needed...very useless, from my
perspective.

On the other hand, it demonstrates interest from big companies
in the Firefox browser and that is what is good about this news.
