Plant life in the world's oceans

This image, taken by Nasa's Aqua spacecraft, shows global concentrations of chlorophyll, the green pigment found in plants. Scientists have developed new techniques for analyzing imagery such as this. The resulting data could help researchers more fully understand the food cycles of the oceans, as well as global climate change.
