IT workers can get the gravy

Information technology workers and financial workers are more likely than other occupation groups to be eligible for bonuses, according to a study released Wednesday from staffing firm Hudson. Forty one percent of IT workers and 48 percent of accounting and finance workers are eligible to earn bonuses, according the report. Those numbers compare to 35 percent of health care workers, 36 percent of manufacturing workers and 30 percent of "other service" workers. The study involved 10,001 respondents overall, including 521 IT workers.

A total of 66 percent of IT workers said they were either "very" or "somewhat" satisfied with the compensation and benefits they currently receive. That level of satisfaction was higher than that for those in manufacturing and other services but lower than that for both health care and financial workers.
