ISS unveils attack-blocking devices

Network protection provider Internet Security Systems announced Monday that it had shipped the first in its Proventia series of intrusion-prevention devices. The G200 network appliance will monitor traffic and automatically block any attacks that it detects, the company said in a release.

The product is the first to be released under the Atlanta company's plan to integrate multiple security functions in a single device. The product includes firewall, intrusion-detection, antivirus and content-blocking features. Pricing starts at $12,000.
