IBM to resell Manugistics' software

IBM has agreed to help software maker Manugistics sell and market its collection of supply chain programs. The companies announced the deal on Thursday. IBM has similar agreements with dozens of other software makers, which generally agree to support and promote IBM's hardware, services and middleware products in return. Manugistics, based in Rockville, Maryland, said the IBM deal will boost its revenue.

The companies said they plan to focus their joint efforts on companies in the retail, consumer goods, government and high-tech industries. They also expect to jointly target the increasingly hot market for radio frequency identification systems.
