IBM tags Trigo to its RFID portfolio

IBM said Tuesday that it completed the takeover of Trigo Technologies, which makes product-tracking software. Trigo's data synchronization software now becomes part of Big Blue's WebSphere middleware line. The acquisition of the privately held Brisbane, Calif., company is expected to bolster IBM's efforts to offer radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for supply chain management.

Trigo's software is designed to help companies track and centrally manage product information that is often scattered across an enterprise and a supply chain. Its core middleware, Trigo Product Center, helps synchronize product details with internal enterprise systems and also trading partners in the supply chain and distribution channel.
