IBM offers Java video software license
Licensing fees for the software, which encodes and decodes video using the MPEG-4 standard from the Motion Picture Experts Group, begins at $500. A fuller license that permits a licensee to distribute the software externally and entitles it to all future updates costs $5,000, said Marc Goubert, head of the AlphaWorks project. The software doesn't come with support or warranties.
