IBM in, HP out for storage

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has finished the first phase of an IT overhaul in which IBM storage systems will replace an existing one from Hewlett-Packard. The new storage system will consist of three IBM TotalStorage DS8300 servers. Two will be located on campus while a third will sit four kilometers away to better safeguard records in case of a disaster.

The new storage system will also take up less than half of the floor space of the old system, a key factor these days for IT managers.

that is pretty selective bargaining dont you think? What about all the dislodged accounts hp has won over IBM. Examples include pepsico inc, xl capital, mazda....the list goes on and on. No credit to hp for this and as i saw their prospectus and analyst release recently i believe this will increase and pittsburgh medical center will be sorry with the it outsourcing of ibm in the end. Sorry that i dont see eye-to-eye with your hp bashing. And with the recent reorg at hp and the stock almost doubling this year with huge margins. sounds like you should sell your ibm stock and buy some hp!!
