Akamai Technologies on Tuesday named a former IBM executive as its new chief financial officer. J. Donald Sherman, currently the chief financial executive of IBM's systems and technology group, will replace the present CFO, Robert Cobuzzi, early next year, the company said. In addition, Michael M. Afergan has joined the company as its new chief technology officer.
Afergan, who joined Akamai in 1999, had returned to pursue doctoral studies in networking and distributed systems. He will now work with engineering and the product management group and report to Chief Executive Paul Sagan.
