IBM, Lawson ink software deal

IBM linked arms with Lawson Software to provide business management software and services targeting healthcare companies. Lawson, whose products are designed for midsize businesses, is bundling its enterprise software with IBM's implementation services, along with IBM middleware products.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies said they intend to jointly market and sell Lawson's flagship Insight software system running on all IBM eServers--its re-branded server line--and supporting IBM WebSphere software and its DB2 database. Lawson, a longtime IBM partner, develops software that helps manage financials, human resources and manufacturing for businesses.
