Financial software maker Hyperion Solutions on Monday introduced new versions of its analytics software, designed to make it easier to create a
graphical view, or dashboard, of company data. The company introduced updates to its business intelligence software, which it gained through its
acquisition of Brio Software last year. The Hyperion Performance Suite 8.2, which combines reporting, analytics and querying tools in the same application, can be more easily personalized by users to build customized views of business information.
Hyperion also introduced Essbase 7, a new version of its database tuned specifically for storing and retrieving analytical information. The company has improved the development tools to make it easier to write applications by supporting Web services and Extensible Markup Language-querying standards. Both the Hyperion Performance Suite and Essbase 7 now run on Linux.
