It's nice that Howard is going,...
by Earl Benser October 23, 2005 5:16 AM PDT
... to be on satellite radio. It's just too bad that they couldn't locate
his studio at the satellite too. But there are some people who
actually think Howard is entertaining, and it's not worth moving
them into orbit too. So, the status quo remains. And the 'off' button
is a wonderful invention.

Hopefully his show/channels will be purely OPT-IN. This way if someone gets a satellite radio as part of a car promo they'll be able to say either yes or no to his show as opposed to having to reject it.
In A Race To The Bottom With Himself
by Stating October 23, 2005 11:50 PM PDT
Howard Stern, the bully who hides behind a wig and dark glasses, at this point is only in a race to the bottom with himself. No doubt he will Siriusly find new ways to degrade and demean women.

That our once great country would pay a "man" like this $100 milion for pure depravity is a measure of how far we have fallen. He and his demonic paymasters hide behind the mask of First Amendment rights while continuing to corrupt our youth. That is the Devil incarnate, peddling corruption as "freedom". There is nothing freeing about his behaviour, it is enslavement pure and simple. His show's guests are pathetic, lost souls which he feeds off of, like a vampire.

Crazy

Well, I don't listen to Stern personally, not that I find him offensive, I just don't think he is entertaining, but to say "He and his demonic paymasters hide behind the mask of First Amendment rights" is flat out crazy. You obviously have no concept of why the Bill of Rights was created. You can't censor someone because you don't like what he is saying, doing, etc. Not everyone shares the same moral values. What you find to be offensive others may find amusing. Who are you to judge someone else for what he says, or have you forgotten the expression "Judge not lest ye be judged". If you don't like it, its real simple, don't listen to it. If you don't want your kids to listen to it, don't let them. You should be happy he is on satellite radio, now you just have to remove your receiver from the radio/car if you don't want them to listen to stern.
Here we go again....

If you don't want to listen then don't. But don't lump every listener into the "lost souls" category. While I don't like some of the stuff he does, and I don't listen when he strays into that water, I think he is one of the funniest and most sincere people in broadcast today. Stern is an acute political saterist and I find a lot of his thoughts around politics to be spot on. (And I'm a registered Republican, so don't go on with left wing junk.)

I can honestly say that I have never run into a single child or teen that can quote Howard Stern. Not ONE. My children don't listen to him because we don't turn his show on when they are in the car. Imagine that. A parent who actually monitors what is played in front of their children! Alert the government! We've found one!

Regarding his "degredation" of women, I don't recall him ever forcing a woman onto his program. All of these people show up on their own. It's not as if they don't know why they are there. No one has told them that they were actually going to be on a family values radio program and then sprung Howard and the gang on them. No. People choose to go on his show because they feel their exposure and brush with fame is worth their exploitation. Free country, free will. And it's my choice to turn off the radio if I don't want to hear it.

Lastly, this is not a "once great country" but, rather, STILL the greatest democratic country on the planet. I have traveled the globe and have not found another country that offers the freedoms and opportunities that America offers it's citizens. Even with our "demonic paymasters" and our "self righteous, religious zealots".
Good Move

Satellite radio is the place for Howard Stern. I think a big source of his more rude and offensive material came in response to the FCC. I think on satellite radio where he doesn't have any limits he can relax a little more and just be entertaining instead of trying to shock every one. And just like before, if you don't like him you don't have to listen to him. There is just as much offensive material already out there on CDs and DVDs. Ignore it if you don't like it.

A bunch of crap...

If Howard Stern was SUCH a bad guy, why was he not pulled
years ago? MONEY, he makes tons of it for him and even more
for the station. The FCC cares about our well being and decency
as much as a wolf does for a flock of sheep. He made them tons
of money in fines too. At least it's nice he puts it on as a fight
for free speech. I don't care for his views, so I don't listen to
him. The point is more to the FCC and Infinity bickering about
his behavior, putting "restrictions" on him. Good, send the FCC
and big radio giants to outer space along with his show.

Like the FCC needs his money
by sanenazok October 24, 2005 8:42 PM PDT
I'm pretty sure that the fine money does not go to the FCC, but instead it goes to the national treasury where it is shared by all agencies. Even if they all went to the FCC his fines are a pittance. To you or me $1 million is an unimaginable sum, to the trillionaire government it's nothing.

Anyhow, every time the FCC fines someone they rack up large legal bills too, since every breast-showing potty mouth will go to great lengths defending their "protected expression."
