Several users of Microsoft's Hotmail service reported having problems with the free e-mail service on Tuesday. Microsoft late Tuesday confirmed the issue and said it has been fixed.
"This morning, some MSN customers may have experienced issues accessing MSN Hotmail," a Microsoft representative said in an e-mail. "The cause has been attributed to an isolated hardware issue and has since been resolved."
THEY HAVE FIXED NOTHING I STILL CAN'T GET INTO HOTMAIL! MY WEB BROWSER JUST KEEPS GETTING REDIRECTED ROUND IN CIRCLES BECAUSE OF THE NEW WINDOWS LIVE ********! DEATH TO MICROSOFT!
There's always Google's Gmail. If you get an invite from someone you know that has it, create an account, you'll probably like it better than Hotmail. It provides more space and rocks!

Yes, I was one of their victims. I reported it, via another address which wasn't affected, and heard...NOTHING! Could they not have sent out a blanket WEARESORRY mail, like their tiresome Havealookatthisnewservice ones?

or, you don't get what you don't pay for, I guess (assuming you're not stupid enough to pay a multi-gazillionaire for e-mail service). The problem is allegedly with hardware, so maybe paying and freeloader customers weren't equally affected, or at least I would hope for the payers that they would get redundant service (but, why do I get this funny feeling that they don't?).
I've been testing the Windoze Live (TM) Mail Beta and it has some glaring functions missing that were in the now-Classic Hotmail, like Previous and Next e-mail buttons available in each message page (you have to go back to the message list to get to the next or previous message - how dumb is that?), and gone is the handy scrolling list of personal contacts when you're adding addressees to a new message - now you have to go to another page after clicking on "To:", etc., ala e-mail clients like Lotus Notes (don't even get me started). I also haven't figured out how you know how much storage you have left - I allegedly have 2 GB available, according to the invitation, but I'll be darned if I can figure out where to find out how much of it is used (there's a horizontal "thermometer" widget at the top of the message list page in Hotmail Classic). Hotmail Classic was having major problems deleting more than one message by clicking in check boxes when the space used got to within a few percentage points of being full (just when you really need to delete lots of unfiltered spam). In other words, it all pretty much sucks now, and worth every penny not paid for it.
